North Greenwich tube station is located even closer to the O2 than Greenwich DLR station. To reach the O2 from the city centre, you can jump on the Jubilee line, which will take you directly there via Bermondsey, Canada Water and Canary Wharf.
London City Airport (LCY) is the closest to the O2. The DLR station is situated immediately adjacent to the London City Airport terminal building, with enclosed access to and from the elevated platforms. You can take the DLR to Canning Town then switch to the Jubilee line for North Greenwich.
Since opening in 2007, the 02 Arena has played host to concerts by some of the most celebrated musical acts in the world, including Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Muse, Paul McCartney, Rihanna and Take That.
Comedians who have played the venue include Chris Rock, Lee Evans, Steve Coogan, Dylan Moran, Eddie Izzard, Russell Brand and Michael McIntyre. In 2010, the Arena hosted Channel 4's Comedy Gala, a stand-up comedy benefit show in aid of Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, which boasted an audience in excess of 14,000.
